Vita-Mix® variation: blend cashews and a little water to make a smooth paste, then add water and dates and strawberries (and salt, spices, etc), blend until smooth, then mix that in with the chia seed blob that you got from soaking the seeds in a little water. Refrigerate for an hour, add some blueberries, and its all done.

#6 on my all time favorite sandwich list…

On our way to the Old Stone House in Park Slope, we stopped for a little refreshing snack. Our visiting snacker from the UK and local healthy snacker picked up cones of cherry almond frozen yogurt.
+ Fresh, local, made daily, organic, and delicious.
- The place is called “culture” and they have “wet nuts” on their menu.

New snacking trend report: gender-segregated tea drinking.
We went in for some further investigations…
Our findings revealed that men enjoy alt-rock snacks in the absence of women…
and John Cage tribute slushes.
Update: As of May 2012, Man’s Tea House has closed.
The man-only snacking trend is now experiencing a major slump.

Here’s a clue to what I mean by “where snack may not be snack afterall.” Meaning that guess what?? in Japan there are many places called “SNACK” but these are not the type of snack place you and I know of in the USA… instead… Don’t be fooled… (read on)…

Otto the Orange, a fantastic snack representative.
but… the snack’s packaging is loaded with curve balls.
if the brand is Terell’s, why does Otto have an S on his hat?
and why does it say “orange in the apple” on the bag?
very confusing, but it does not diminish my feelings towards Otto

Fancy snacks from Paris. First from Aurore Capucine near Poissoniere, then from my old favorite Gerard Mulot near Odeon/ St. Sulpice where I used to live
so…we held a very important Snack Club summit this week, our 1st official west coast meeting, and i wanna let the entire club know that i’m having a very positive snacking experience on my trip to Los Angeles. The conference/summit was held at Luscious Dumplings in Alhambra, and the snacks were FANTASTIC! i was mainly focused on the soup dumpling. it was fresh, light+flavorful. super gingery. and as a little footnote, they had the Laker game on. for me, 2 things that go together perfect…dumplings+basketball. ok, that’s all for now.thank you Wendy for the hook up on the hook up.

I don’t know if this counts because I didn’t actually eat this myself, but a friend of mine recently made a “Recursive Pizza” in Milwaukee!

I’d like to take a moment to alert snack bloggers and readers to the existence of a blog that i started for the month of july. It’s called taco summer, and it’s the next big thing– thick description lifestyle food blogging.

This place is a monthly ritual for me and jerry! We come here to just get 3 baskets of crap/pork soup dumplings that you dip into special vinegar sauce that hits the spot every time!! I’ve also had their pork shoulder before which pork lovers will freak out over. The meat comes out on the bone but it basically melts right off and into your mouth!!

name: hannah
location: brooklyn
occupation: kid sister, young adult, farmers market worker, snack blogger
snack of choice: walnuts n raisins, cake, tacos, summer rolls
future snacking plans: food swings vegan milkshakes, more tacos

i’ve been doing some snack-blog research, and i’ve stumbled upon some posts that really speak to my personal snacking lifestyle. I don’t know if any of you are aware of ongoing taco truck persecution, but it’s a total downer and reminiscent of red hook red tape from last year.on a more positive note, how about the portland, OR food carts? so dreamy. snacks on wheels.
there is a cute little stand on 9th street between 3rd and 2nd next to cloisters cafe that has these delicious balls!!

went to Curly’s Vegetarian Lunch on 14th street yesterday….
the curly fries were pretty good…not crazy…but pretty good…
the curl was tight..the fry was crisp but not too crisp…and the potato was nice…
i didn’t go for the cheese or chili/cheese…but a little salt+pepper or some herb/spice type stuff would’ve been nice..i would for sure recommend this place….the veggie cheeseburger was boderline very good….
and that’s what’s up…
Breaking news: saint’s alp in brooklyn now has (and honors) the “10 stamp redemption card”.

'tis the season for cold bubble tea
